My day

Today I am cleaning like a mad fool. It feels good and I am taking my lunch break to play with you on this fun blog. : )

Company coming is always a good motivation to clean and Piper Turner and her two boys and her nanny are coming on Saturday. They will stay here through Thursday then they are caravaning with us down to Rovinj. We'd already planned a 'work' trip down there to do a few things to the flat before the spring/summer season and also to pick up a piece of art we had commissioned that is our Christmas present to each other.

That sounds so fancy. Really we both fell in love with this painting and did not get it. Then when we decided we needed to, it was gone. So we talked to the artist and she said she'd make us a new one. You can't really tell from the picture but the white rain is with heavy white (oil) paint and feels a bit three-d. I can't wait to get it. I think it will go in the foyer when we get home, the first thing you see when you walk through the front door. And remember that 50's buffet I found on the side of the road & painted black last summer? I think that will go under it against the wall.

Jason & I never agree on art. It's kind of a joke. I love anything with a chicken or a cow or a bird and he loves, well his tastes vary and I cannot predict what he will or won't like. But we both loved this one so we'll see.

Anyway, Piper and family will play with us in Rovinj for the weekend and then we'll drop them off in Triest, Italy where they are taking a train to Rome and then Florence. Should be fun though I think she would have had more fun with her husband verses the nanny, but I guess he could not get off work.

Ok - back to work for me! Love to you Sally! You are right, 16 weeks are going to go by so fast!

ooooo! That sounds so glamourous to be visiting your house by the sea to pick up your commissioned painting. If that were me, I would work that into every conversation possible.

Tell Piper I said hello and have fun. It would be nice to travel with a nanny! My girlfriend Jen is like that too. I'm always thinking how luxurious it would be to be in exotic locales with babysitting to maximize sightseeing.

Sounds like you will be busy for awhile. I'll look forward to hearing from you again when you get return. Peace and love. Sally

I almost forgot!

The painting is wonderful! It will be a showstopper in your entry with that buffet.

: ) If you could see me now in jeans & t-shirt, with dirt under my nails, psyching up to clean one more bathroom you would not think it so glamorous. ; ) Love you!!!
